Managing and developing staff, including safety training, interviewing, motivating and overseeing employees’ performance improvement.

Job Functions

  • Oversee the horticultural care provided by technicians for assigned client accounts.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and excellent quality of service.
  • Provide daily supervision and training to staff to ensure accounts are well served and attractive.
  • Oversee and train on correct disease and pest control applications, pruning and fertilization.
  • Supervise the design, development and implementation of potted plants, making seasonal changes as needed.
  • Conduct ongoing inspections of accounts and work areas, including equipment and work vehicles.
  • Inspect equipment to ensure that it is in safe and proper working order.
  • Schedule and conduct regular safety training and maintain records of Safety and routine training of assigned employees.
  • Conduct employee evaluations
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients.
  • Perform special services, installations, pulling plants from accounts, collecting client check as requester by a Customer Service Manager.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent training and experience in Landscaping, Horticulture or other related field.
  • Three years of related experience in horticulture, landscaping or related areas.
  • Two years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Must have valid Florida Driver’s License.
  • Ability to drive vans and passenger vehicles

Preferred Experience/Skills

  • Course work in horticulture, landscaping or related areas.
  • Ability to supervise and exercise critical interpersonal skills in establishing and maintaining working relations with staff, management, and create a positive team environment.
  • Ability to develop team members to reach their potential goals.
  • Ability to use sprayers, hoes, shovels, hand tools

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting occasionally less than 1/3 of day
  • Standing regularly over 2/3 of day
  • Talking/Hearing regularly over 2/3 of day
  • Reaching frequently 1/3 to 2/3 of day
  • Use of hands to finger, handle or feel frequently over 2/3 of day
  • Lifting occasionally up to 70 pounds
  • Occasionally climbing 10 ft. Ladders

Working Conditions

  • Occasional Office/Indoor environment
  • Occasional Outdoor Wet or Humid condition
